Lawrence tried over a hundred criminal cases to verdict. Sam A. Schmidt Sam A. Schmidt is of counsel to our firm. He earned his law degree from St. John’s Law School in 1975. Sam started his career as a Legal Aid attorney and moved on to become an eminent New York City criminal defense attorney who has handled thousands of state and federal criminal matters, including numerous highly publicized cases. Sam was lead counsel in the “Embassy Bombing” terrorist case in 2001. He was also lead counsel in major drug trafficking conspiracy cases. Today, Sam practices in both the Federal courts throughout the United States and New York State courts. His practice includes representation of clients under investigation or charged with white collar crimes, narcotics offenses, homicides and most other offenses. He has also lectured and published on various issues relating to terrorist investigations and prosecutions. Mr. Schoenbach received his law degree from Hofstra University. He also holds a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Albany and a B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College. Lawrence has taught trial techniques for more than 20 years at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy at the Hofstra University School of Law and the Yeshiva University, Cardozo School of Law.
